80's Sweet Marriage Chapter 13

Translator: Huntress

Chapter 013: Embarrassing, he’s not waiting for her.

Su Nuo thought that there was a random inspection for a “gate pass” by a teacher.

In order to keep the students safe and easy to manage, the students who go home to eat must show proof that they are allowed to go home to their teacher.

Su Nuo quickly rummaged through her pocket and took out the gate pass issued by the teacher.

This was issued when her father just died. She and her brother were allowed to leave school at any time.

But when she was going out the gate while holding her gate pass, she found out that the students blocking the gate were all girls. In addition, they were all blushing and they couldn’t wait to look outside.

When Su Nuo finally squeezed herself out of the crowd with great difficulty, she saw Gu Chenglan bluntly standing outside the gate. He was leaning his back on a tree with a cigarette in his mouth. It’s like he’s waiting for someone.

It must be mentioned that even if Gu Chenglan willful look and appearance were somewhat outrageous, that face and that figure doesn’t have a place where it doesn’t have a handsome glow.

Su Nuo’s heart suddenly stopped then beat wildly with a *Thump Thump*. Um, is he waiting for her?

“Ah, that boy’s really handsome! Is he really studying at our school?”

“I’ve never seen him before but I saw him come out from the high school area.”

“He seems to be waiting for someone. Who could that be? For him to wait for a girl, how happy could she be?”

The girls all around were whispering and their discussion was very lively. There are a few bold people who push each other and force each other to talk to him.

Su Nuo curled her lips. She raised her chest and walked towards Gu Chenglan.

Gu Chenglan narrowed his eyes. He ruthlessly sucked in the cigarette and stepped on it after he threw it on the ground. Then he stood up straight.

Su Nuo’s heart thumped again. She thought that Gu Chenglan came to see her.

However, she didn’t expect a black car to suddenly stopped by the school gate and Gu Chenglan to open the door for the backseat of the car without turning his head. The car sped off as soon as he got in.

Eeh, he was not waiting for her. She really loves herself too much(自作多情).

[TL: Love herself too much - assumed something two-sided but it appeared to be unrequited]

Su Nuo touched her nose as she felt embarrassed and speechless. Fortunately, she didn’t call out Gu Chenglan’s name or she’ll feel even more humiliated.

Come to think of it. She was in a rush in the morning and it was only a coincidence to encounter him. It’s already strange that Gu Chenglan remembers her name. How is it possible for him to stand here and wait for her?

Even though she was a little disappointed, only a glance to those smitten schoolgirls and Su Nuo couldn’t help herself but be happy again.

At least she knows Gu Chenglan, his temper, and his preferences. You girls shouldn’t be delusional because Gu Chenglan is destined to be hers and no one else.

With all that in mind, Su Nuo sped up her footsteps to go home soon. At the same time, she warned herself inwardly that she mustn’t be too reckless. Whenever she sees Gu Chenglan in the future, she shouldn’t appear too eager.

Su Nuo still understands the principle of the boiled frog effect.

[TL: 温水煮青蛙 - boiled frog effect. Boiling frogs from warm water]

When she arrived home, she saw her grandmother sitting on the bed and knitting a sweater. It’s her grandmother’s hobby and this is the only thing that she can do now.

“Grandma, don’t tire yourself. If you also want to go to the bathroom, I can assist you.” Su Nuo washed her hands and went inside the room. She took hold of the knitting needle on her grandmother’s hands, “Ah, did you knit a hat for me? But this looks a little small.”

Su Nuo looked at the red velvet hat connected to the knitting needle. She touched the head in a good mood.

“It’s not for you. It’s for my great-grandchild.” Her grandmother smiled and patted Su Nuo’s hand. She grabbed back the knitting needle and treated it as if it’s a treasure.

“Great grandchild?” Su Nuo blinked her eyes in puzzlement: “Which distant cousin carried the good news?”
